NūrRing Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how NūrRing ("NūrRing", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the NūrRing mobile application and related services.
Your use of NūrRing is also subject to our Terms & Conditions.
NūrRing is a dhikr tracking app that includes account features, reminders, social features, Qibla tools, and optional Bluetooth ring connectivity.
1. Information We Collect
a. Account and profile information
If you create or use an account, we may collect and store information such as your email address, authentication identifier, and username. NūrRing currently does not require or store a user profile photo.
b. Dhikr history and app data
We may store data related to your use of the app, including dhikr counts, daily history, streak information, reminder settings, and feature preferences needed to operate the app.
c. Friends, groups, and leaderboard data
If you use NūrRing social features, we may store friend requests, friendship relationships, group membership data, leaderboard totals, and social privacy settings associated with your account.
d. Location data
NūrRing may access your device location when you use the Qibla compass feature in order to calculate the direction of the Kaaba. This location access is used only while you use the relevant feature and is not stored by NūrRing as part of your account data.
e. Bluetooth and device connectivity data
If you connect a supported Bluetooth ring, NūrRing may process local Bluetooth-related device information needed for pairing, reconnecting, and ring-based dhikr counting. Remembered ring/device information may be stored locally on your device. NūrRing does not store Bluetooth device data in the cloud as part of its normal operation.
f. Notification and reminder settings
If you enable reminders or notifications, we may store your reminder preferences and schedule notifications on your device.
g. Ads and subscriptions
NūrRing may offer advertising-supported and subscription-based features. If these features are enabled, additional information may be processed as needed to support ads, purchases, or subscription status.
h. Camera and AR Qibla data
When you use the AR Qibla compass feature, NūrRing may access your device camera to display Qibla direction information over a live camera view. Camera access is used only while you actively use the AR Qibla feature and NūrRing does not intentionally store or upload camera images or video as part of your account data.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide core app functionality.
- Create and manage your account.
- Sync and store your dhikr history and settings.
- Support friends, groups, and leaderboard features.
- Calculate Qibla direction using your device location, and optionally display it in AR Qibla views that use your device camera while you use those features.
- Connect to and communicate with supported Bluetooth ring devices.
- Send reminders and notifications you choose to enable.
- Support app security, account integrity, and operational maintenance.
- Support advertising or subscription features if and when enabled.
3. Sign-In Methods
NūrRing currently supports account access through email-based sign-in and Google sign-in. Support for additional sign-in methods, including Sign in with Apple on supported platforms, may be offered in the future.
4. Third-Party Services
NūrRing uses third-party services to operate parts of the app. These may include services for authentication, cloud data storage, backend functions, notifications, crash diagnostics, product analytics, advertising, and subscription management.
For example, NūrRing uses Firebase services, including Firebase Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Analytics, and may use Expo notifications, Google AdMob, and RevenueCat to support reminders, ads, and subscription functionality.
5. Crash Diagnostics and Product Analytics
NūrRing uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and technical diagnostics so we can understand and fix app stability issues. Crash reports may include information such as device model, operating system version, app version, timestamps, and technical details about what led to a crash, but are not intended to include the content of your dhikr, reminders, or messages.
NūrRing also uses Firebase Analytics to collect limited usage information about how the app is used. Our custom analytics events are currently restricted to a pseudonymous Firebase user identifier and a small set of product events such as sign-up method, first dhikr increment completion, reminder enabled, ring connected, and friend added. We do not add your email address, username text, custom dhikr names, reminder content, or Bluetooth device identifiers to these custom analytics events.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in limited circumstances, such as:
- With service providers that help us operate the app.
- With analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, and subscription providers to help us operate, improve, and monetize the app under their applicable terms.
- With other users when you use social features such as usernames, groups, and leaderboards.
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or valid government request.
- To protect the rights, safety, security, and integrity of NūrRing, our users, or others.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets, if that ever occurs.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide NūrRing, maintain app operations, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the security and integrity of the app.
8. Account Deletion and Data Deletion
If you create an account in NūrRing, you may request deletion of your account and associated data through the in-app account deletion path. You may also request deletion through our public deletion page:

Subject to legal, security, fraud-prevention, or operational requirements, deletion may include your authentication account, Firestore profile data, dhikr history, friend and request data, group membership data, username claim, reminder settings, and remembered ring data associated with your account.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to help protect information. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
NūrRing is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed to children. If you believe personal information has been provided inappropriately, please contact us so we can review the request.
11. International Users
Depending on the infrastructure and service providers used to operate NūrRing, your data may be processed or stored in countries outside your own.
12. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain processing of your information.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
